Highest growth in 25 years of Betech

One more month to go and then Betech will exist for 25 years. Never before has the demand in the market for production capacity been as large as in recent years. In order to meet all this customer needs, considerable investments have been made in people, machines, production halls and digitization. The production surface has increased to 17,000 m2 and the number of turning, milling and injection moulding machines has been increased to 95 units.

In addition to the current ISO 9001: 2015 certification, ISO 14001:2015 has also been achieved. Betech has been focusing intensively on circular production for some years now, where this environmental certificate testifies. In addition, the first steps towards achieving the leading automotive quality standard, IATF 16949, have been taken.

2018 was the year of exponential growth and 2019 will be the year of far-reaching digitization and robotization.

Betech Mass Turning

Last year Betech’s location in Hoogeveen doubled in size to a total of 10,000 m2.

Immediately after the new building, the existing production halls have been completely renewed.

  • a completely new infrastructure and production network has been installed for the production digitization.
  • all floors are provided with environmentally friendly coating.
  • the old lighting has been replaced by energy-efficient LED lighting.
  • a completely new and conditioned measuring room has been built including programming rooms and a data center.

Due to the overall growth and a few large orders from e-mobility, automotive and the high-tech industry, there was more need for production capacity, as a result of which 6 additional CNC turning machines were invested. The main challenge and change in 2019 is the digitization of both production and back office. In collaboration with a few universities, research institutions, software and hardware partners and data engineers, the first test environment will soon be completed. More specific news will soon follow on this.

Betech Plastics

Due to the continued increase in market demand for precision machined plastics, Betech

Plastics invested heavily in production capacity in 2018. Where in the first half year capacity already increased by 20%, another investment in two new CNC machining centers was required.

A new Haas VF4 and a Haas DM2 have ensured that the demand can be met even better in 2019. Moreover, the investment in the Haas DM2 has increased the 5-axis production capacity. For 2019, the first investments are already on schedule to continue the growth of the plastic processors of the Betech Group.

Through digitization and robotization of the machine park, efficiency will increase, so that lead times and prices will decrease.

Betech Injection Moulding

2018 was the first year that Betech Injection Moulding was fully located in Steenwijk, after the relocations in 2016 and 2017. This past year has seen a significant growth, in which the necessary new projects have been shaped and taken into production. In line with the completely new furnishing of the production hall in 2017, the necessary machinery, robots and peripherals were added in 2018.

The Plastic Congress in Steenwijk, where Betech Injection Moulding and Betech Plastics presented themselves together, was special this year. Within the plastic world it was a new phenomenon and absolutely worth repeating. Steenwijk is and will remain the plastic capital of the North. Participations in exhibitions like the ESEF, Plastics 2018 and the Precision Fair have again led to the necessary publicity and contacts.
